Beginning her career as a Mobile Therapist, Beth quickly recognized the need for child-specific mental health services in Berks County. In creating FairView Counseling and The Play Therapy Center, her goal was to create a space designed for children, teens, and their families to receive quality, affordable counseling in a welcoming, child-centered environment. Over the past 20 years, Beth has largely introduced the effectiveness of Play Therapy to Berks County and the surrounding communities.
Beth received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata College. Her primary approach to working with children is Child-Centered Play Therapy in a family context. Beth has additional training in Sand Tray Therapy, Filial Therapy, and Theraplay.
Dr. Kathryn Davis, Clinical Director

Kayte received her Master of Arts degree and her Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from Widener University, Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. Her interests include children with behavior problems related to executive function deficits/ADHD, anxiety, depression, and difficult adolescents and teens.
Kayte is a neurodivergent affirming therapist who uses humor and humility when working with clients. She uses a solution-focused, client-centered approach taking care to respect each client’s unique identity. She strongly believes in the importance of empowering all clients through representation, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). She has additional training in neuropsychology/assessment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Filial Therapy, and Theraplay.
Melissa Reber
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor
Melissa received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Marywood University. Her interests include understanding trauma and its impact on an individual’s development. Melissa enjoys working with children and teens with anxiety, bullying issues, anger, and depression. She believes in the importance of well-rounded self-care and empowering individuals by helping them to identify their inner strengths. Melissa has additional training in Sand Tray Therapy and Filial Therapy.
Amanda L. Latshaw
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Registered Play Therapist
Amanda received her Master of Social Work degree from Gallaudet University where she specialized in supporting and understanding the Deaf and Hard of Hearing cultures. Her interests include working with communication differences, medical complexities and comorbidities, depression, anxiety disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and sensory processing disorders. Amanda believes that communication is the fundamental component to therapeutic success and individual growth. She encourages and welcomes communication through play, art, assistive technology, signed and verbal languages. Amanda has additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Theraplay. * Amanda is able to communicate in both ASL and English.
Ashley Frain
Licensed Professional Counselor

Ashley received her Masters of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Alvernia University. Her experience in the mental health field has led her to believe that early treatment of problems lends the best chance of leading a happy productive life. Her interests include helping children and teens through depression, anxiety, anger, and self-esteem issues through an integrated approach to self-care.
Maria Barreras
Licensed Professional Counselor
Board Certified Art Therapist
Maria received her Master of Science degree in Art Therapy from Nazareth College. She enjoys working with children and teens working through grief and loss, ADHD, depression, impulse control difficulties, and conduct concerns. She uses a trauma-informed and neurodiverse-affirming approach to promote mindfulness, self-efficacy, and problem-solving skills. She believes that using a client’s existing strengths and interests is the best way to achieve goals. Maria has additional training in Play Therapy, adoption, and gender-affirming care.
