FairView Counseling and The Play Therapy Center
is a non-profit counseling agency, founded in 1999, to address the need for child-specific mental health services in Berks County. FairView Counseling largely introduced Play Therapy to parents as well as the academic and medical professionals working in our community. FairView continues to grow and demonstrate the value and effectiveness of expressive therapies such as Play Therapy and Art Therapy to treat social, behavioral, and emotional disorders in children.
FairView Counseling and The Play Therapy Center is an anti-racist, pro-social justice, QTBIPOC affirming practice that affirms the dignity, worth, and value of all individuals. We honor and celebrate the diversity of our clients and we are proud to provide a welcoming environment for all types of families to receive exceptional, child-centered counseling. We are committed to maintaining an atmosphere of openness, trust, and safety.
Our Mission
Our mission is to foster the health and welfare of children in our community by providing quality, affordable mental health treatment to children, teens, and their families. We believe that healthy individuals make healthy families that go on to make healthy communities.
Play Therapy
Play Therapy is an approach to therapy that uses a child’s natural communication and learning style. When children don’t have effective problem-solving skills, they act out or withdraw. Play Therapy can be used with children as young as 3 years old.
Take the First Step
Therapists at FairView Counseling use Play Therapy in combination with other evidence-based treatments such as Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Filial Therapy, and Theraplay techniques to achieve maximum success for a client’s individual goals.
